SMG2 - Gettysburg for SMA INSTALLATION To install, unless you are short of hard disk space, make a copy of your SMA folder or make a new installation of SMA and rename it SMG2. Unzip the Antietam_Beta_Patch into the SMG2 folder, overwriting files. Unzip SMG2g.zip into the SMG2 folder with "use folder names checked", overwriting files. An alternative is to use the SMfiles utility (SMfiles.exe). Run Antietam.exe, by double clicking on it, in the SMG2 folder or make a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking on Antietam.exe, "send to" then "Desktop (create shortcut)". Note: If your operating system is set to the default of not displaying common file extensions, you may not see .exe, or .zip file extensions. Graeme ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ -version f Ernie has updated the Scenarios so they are now in the SMA format. Any units that started off map are now on the map. He also put in some missing graphics - Herr's Tavern, missing schools, trees, etc. The corn graphics are the same, but there is a copy of textured corn in the ModInfo folder that can be moved to the main folder. The map has been corrected to correspond with SMG. I have added the correct "on map" portraits and some Info graphics. -version g MAP -The Gettysburg and Hanover Rail Road & thhe unfinished railroad with cuts have been added. -A few missing trails have been added. -Some more named sites and houses have beeen added that were not in SMG. -A specific building for the Benner House has been added (See the info for the Benner's Hill scenario to see a photo). -Streams are now greenish instead of bluissh. The marsh is brown & green. The sparkle blue-grays are now light grays by changing the master palettes. See the info pictures for Benner's Hill to see a photo of Rock Creek. -Pike, roads & trail include only colours that show lighter on the lighter sides of hills. -Maps show that low stone walls were only built for some of the sides of fields while others might be picket or snake fences. The single stone walls included use the hedge slot with slight cover value. The wall lined roads have greater cover value. -Gettysburg now has the SMG ground colour and no open square in the centre of town. There is a square at an intersection about 90 to 100 feet wide which is less than the SMG 300ft wide squares. There is no huge square with diagonal roads inside it as in SMG. -The pine woods now include pine trees usiing a special graphic as well as leafy trees to make up for the lack of a separate pine type in SMA. -The portraits have been redone to give cllearer pictures. -Overview maps are included (F1). OOB -Warren is moved back above Meade in the OOOB so that Warren is deployed as a000 & Meade as b000. -Artillery battery names have been added iin the 'nickname' field. -Gun types are now more detailed with infoo from brettschulte.net. Some 'mixed' batteries have been used, but a minority of howitzers has been ignored and the gun types in some battalions have been swapped to give batteries of 1 type of gun. A few batteries of majority howitzers have the previously undocumented 'X' 2nd code which gives the label '12lb. howitzers'. -Hay's CSA brigade do not have zouave unifforms. The CSA cavalry have regulation uniform (by Cleaburn) mounted & dismounted (cLT). Less CSA units have the mixed uniforms of previous versions as the ANV received new uniforms before the Gettysburg campaign. cN1 is now a brownish-gray sack coat & trousers with hat. cN2 is Cadet Gray (a color I would call blue) jacket & trousers with hat. The Cadet Gray colors are added to the palette in place of other blues, so the Union command bar etc will use these blues unless you are using the versions with the altered palette (which also removes the pulsing colors from the command bar). See the opening screen for officers in Cadet Gray. -The USA Irish brigade does not have greenn distinctions. Some USA soldiers which had the TR code now have hat instead of forage cap as code I. Scenarios -As the US XII Corps has been renumbered ''C' to display 'XII' & the Cavalry Corps of both sides have been renumbered 'D', a few miss-numbered scenario IDs have been corrected. -User made scenarios have been added. Theyy have a number at the start of their title. -Scenario info & pictures have been added for the standard scenarios & some others. This has meant a change in the order of scenarios from SMG to take advantage of which scenario numbers have unique sets of pictures in SMA. -There are new or redone Mini portraits foor senior commanders. -The multi-day battles have been included,, but SMA does not do multi-day. These battles will end at the end of day one unless someone can figure out a way for SMA to play for more than 1 day. -There are more scenarios in a folder callled 'ExtraScenarios' with numbers less than the standard ones. Move them to the main folder when you are ready to play them. Other -Opening menu screens have been added. -A short introduction has been added and mmenu items for Antietam History have been removed. -Detailed Gettysburg maps can be found at:: http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/h?ammem/gmd:@filreq%28@field%28NUMBER+@band%28g3824g+cw0325000c%29%29+@field%28COLLID+cwmap%29%29 -A JPEG2000 viewer can be downloaded from http://www.kakadusoftware.com/ Graeme
