Sid Meier's Antietam - Portraits of Generals

There are 2 types of portraits used in SMA.
I'll call them Mini Portraits & Stp Portraits.

The Mini portraits are used in scenario information. The smaller Stp portraits are displayed in the lower left hand corner of the screen when a general is selected on map.

Stp Portraits
There are many portraits included in SMA but only a portion of the portraits can be used. Those for the army commanders do not display nor any for brigade commanders. Those usable are:

StpJEBStuart.PCX is used for 2 ID numbers. The portrait of Ewell is displayed for Lawton in SMA, as Ewell's Division was commanded by Lawton at Antietam. For historical accuracy StpEwell.pcx can be deleted.

The Stp portraits are linked to the I.D. number and not the name of the general. e.g. In a user created battle pack the leader of the Union 2nd Corps will have the picture in StpEVSumner.PCX displayed whatever his name might be. If playing a user created battle pack that does include portraits, all the Stp portraits can be deleted so that an incorrect portrait is not displayed.

To use portraits when creating a battle pack, first consider what I.D. numbers to use so that there will be portraits available for the generals you want. 2nd take any Stp portrait pcx file, paste a picture in it and save it as the name corresponding to the I.D. number of the general for the side (USA or CSA) that is used for the OOB which includes that general, repeat for each general. So if Lt. Gen. Lord Hill commands the British 2nd Corps at Waterloo and USA is being used for the British, save a picture of Lord Hill as StpEVSumner.PCX, as Lord Hill will have the I.D. 200 in OBU.txt.

A restore pack to replace only those Stp portraits that are used in standard SMA, after playing a user created battle pack, can be found here.
